Entrapment

Nude from imagination during a period where I started to explore the body in relation to imagined environments. In this painting I was aiming to expand the morphing and warping of the human body inspired by modern painters like Francis Bacon and Modigliani , and at this period my primary obsession was with the female body and this was probably one of the more successful paintings of that exploration. I also wanted to pursue an exploration of the concept of the 'male gaze' in art and the concept of 'New Masculinities' in the contemporary age.
