Though primarily identified by his unique copper-acid printing technique that enabled him to create multiple, differently-colored versions of the same work, Blake trained at the Royal Academy of Art in conventional draughtsmanship and painting. Though he admitted in his diary that he was inferior to the Renaissance Masters like Michelangelo, he stoutly confirmed that he was superior to more recent artists, such as Rembrandt.
