2015 · acrylic on canvas board (mounted on stained panel board)

Dimensions (130 x 200 cm)

Five palm-sized canvas boards painted side-by-side with a coating of thick, smooth acrylic colours in intense combinations; this piece is part of a series I call 'abstract assemblages'. These are abstract (non-objective) images meant to create both a sense of continuity AND of narrative quality, by using composition and colour theory to convey a sense of mass and space within each panel, whilst juxtaposing them to force an interpretation of the 'events' occurring in each panel. Whether this has been achieved remains undetermined. I HAVE stopped making them--for the time being--at least until I devise a more compelling way to create this illusion. ~Lee

About Lee Edward McIlmoyle

Lee Edward McIlmoyle has wasted the last twenty years of his life trying to productize his life's output, to no discernible effect. He still tortures imaginary friends for amusement. He is still Canadian, for the nonce.
