In this full-length portrait of the artists first cousin and friend, Georges de Miré, La Fresnaye reduced the figures features to essential detail only. The sharp, angular lines and limited color range reveal the influence of Cubism and anticipate his involvement in the Section dOr, which he joined in 1912.
