Little Henrietta Dorr was six years old at the time her father commissioned this painting of her. Dr. Russell Dorr of Chatham hired Ammi Phillips to paint all eight members of his family with each painting diminishing in size as each sitter was younger in age. Henrietta Dorr was the youngest thus smallest of the collection.
