Mandala One
2012 · Pen & Ink
Dimensions (25.4 x 25.4 cm)
I've been playing with compasses for as long as I can remember. The first thing I learned about them (other than being able to draw a perfect circle, of course) is that the radius of a circle is 1/6th the length of the circumference (not perfectly, but definitely close enough). This always fascinated me, and that fascination (and some personal circumstantial variables) manifested itself into this piece of art, called "Mandala One" in 2012.

About Zach Logan
Artist, Musician, Writer, Builder. I primarily produce "Mandalas" or "Sacred Geometry" as far as visual art goes. I do it more out of curiosity, but sometimes it's vision. For "analog" works I use only a compass, a straight edge, and drawing tools. No protractors. That's key when keeping things ancient.
