"In this work, if we observe the rich effects of the sunrays which glance off of the bodies and clothing, we can clearly see the strong technical and chromatic quality of Ramon Casas’ work in his quest to integrate the figure into its surroundings, in this case one of Sitges’ blue courtyards. To Ramon Casas, the world was a colourful impression, and this conception led him to achieve extraordinarily rich nuances which yield extremely attractive results. The quality of the female figure pinkish tones and the white of her dress mean that in the late 1880s, Casas was categorised as an Impressionist. (Museu del Cau Ferrat, Sitges, 30858)"
