2017 · Acrylic Paint and Indian Ink
Dimensions 50 × 50 cm
This painting was donated to the SPCA for their art show. While no one bought it at the show I only hope someone did eventually. The Story and Rant Behind this Painting And why it means something to me: Originally this painting was titled "I'm to good for this place anyway" which very well might be why no one bought it , but rather then referencing the studio it was hanging in it was referencing my job I had recently left at the time because I couldn't stand the work place bullying from my boss anyway. The thorns represent the workplace environment. Burning that feeling of helplessness and uselessness and then being reborn stronger. My boss was a real bitch back then and I still get angry about the stuff she would put me through. A minimum wage job in tourism at a Visitors center and she was making me alphabetize all the books in the building , write a spreadsheet for them ...corrected my spelling , I did so without complaint and then tried to get me to do a book report on a book she chose...Like I was getting paid eight dollars for a four hour shift giving people directions I'm not in grade school honey ... She was insane ....Wrote a list every time I made any sort of error she wrote it down and then at the end of a year sat me down in a dark meeting room and listed all of the things she didn't like about me off...even called me a sugar baby because clearly I must be because I didn't work full time .....My husbands younger then me...Asked me if I was OK because I "let myself go" (There was a movement where women stopped wearing make up and I joined it and never looked back) but at least I know I'm happy and she never will be. BURN BITCH BURN!

About Ashley Branscome
My names Ashley and I'm on a mission to collect all the cat art I can , aswell as contribute to the cat art here. I recently have found my mission as an artist ...to create 1,000 peices of cat art before I die in hopes that I will secure a spot somwhere on wiki stating I was very possibly mentally unstable.
