Pink (triptych)

Originally this series of breast paintings were named "BoobHead". They speak of sexual objectification of the female form, self objectification and the ideology of Western feminine beauty. Pink is a Triptych (3 piece painting) inspired by the softness of the female flesh as well as a comment on the stereotypes of Westernised ideologies of feminine beauty ie: submissive, soft, pink, often surrounded by fabrics. The lace patterning was created by building up thin layers of oil paint, covering the body while revealing it at the same time. Although these paintings glorify the female nude, they subtlety question the relevance of beauty.
