Resting woman
2016 · Charcoal sanguine and pastels on paper
Dimensions (29.7 x 42 cm)
Most of the paintings Oriol has made around the Natures Mortes graphic novel topic have "Vidal Balaguer" as their signature. The finding of long lost paintings signed by a forgotten painter, Vidal Balaguer, silenced by historians and very close to Picasso and Casas was the core justification for the creation of this series around an artist that never existed and is in reality a fictional character created by Oriol and used later by Zidrou as an inspiration for their graphic novel "natures mortes" (Dargaud, 2017)
