Tell me your woes - Bargirl

In this large painting I was painting an experience that I and i'm sure many others can relate to, going to your local bar and having someone you confide in during a beer or two. This I'm sure can either be grating and annoying or an opportunity for empathy and genuine communication and rarely much in between . The figure is loosely based on someone who I had that sort of relationship with for a while who was a local bargirl in my hometown but in general is more the subject that hearkens back to a painting like Bar Girl,by Manet and in a way it is a homage to that painting.
