THE HUMBLE TUMBLE

Using abstraction as a tool, I approach domesticated everyday objects and symbols; picking them apart, folding them, reshaping them and putting them together in juxtapositions. An object that has lost its function, or gotten a new function, still refers back to its old qualities. It carries the same signals and codes, but becomes something more difficult to define. A gap is created between an object's designated purpose and it's usage, and in that gap uncertainty can appear; the inbetween, the transitivity, the queer object's potential.
