White Rose

This photograph was taken during blockage of a far-right rally in Poland on Polish Armed Forces Day in 2018. Police intervened and arrested anti-fascist protesters. Protesters were taken by force from the street and kept behind a closed gate which was used as a makeshift prison cell. White rose was a symbol of peaceful anti-nazi student group "Weisse Rose" active during the second world war in Germany. Since "Law and Justice" party have the majority in polish government, far-right organisations are feeling as if they were above the law and are getting braver and louder in their actions.
