Through the fictions I create, I question our future identity. The interrogations feeding my work are articulated within a current anxiety, as a sole consequence from the paradoxes bred by the era we live in: the advent of virtual worlds, genetic manipulation, religion…. I engage with our relation to collective memory by means of references, written pieces, films and aesthetics, rooted in popular culture and science fiction from the seventies to this day. My work raises crucial questions regarding our future, such as interrogations about bioethics. Our acceptance or rejection towards genetic mutation, human evolution and more broadly, transhumansim. As well as trough my fictional works, I challenge our future identity. Will genetic modifications become a norm? Under which form will genetic “failures” manifest themselves? How would then these genetically modified insurgents revolt? How would these various opponent groups organise? What would then be their revendications? These interrogations may be shaped through hypothesis and anticipation yet are deeply rooted in present times. I open the boarder between the probable and improbable. Such contradiction interests me, as it generates an uncanniness from which emerges and appears intriguing objects. These objects convey inasmuch attraction as they carry fear. They are relics. Relics from another time, discovered in wastelands et manipulated afterwards in the workshop, as to render a mystical aspect to them. Through my last performances, I deal with the notion of ritual between mystery and strangeness. Once again arises the notion of identity, between Orient and Occident. Therefore, by the fictional aspect of my pieces, I am aiming to open spaces of possibilities, in order to better apprehend our future and understand our present.
