WUNDERKAMMER 2.0 THE IDEA AT THE BASE OF THE PROJECT A museum is a careful selection of what can be interesting or beautiful in the eyes of a visitor and this makes it a particular selection. A view of the curator towards the visitor. This isn’t enough anymore. We need to go deeper and dig into the memory of the past to find a modern context to which these discoveries can be adapted. Thus, over time, created the desire to transform the museum into a concept and to re-live the history of that concept. To rework it starting from its origins: the Wunderkammer, which can be considered as the first stage of the development of the concept of museum, although it does not have the characteristics nor the method of the latter. All objects in Wunderkammer aroused wonder in the past. Those from nature itself were called with the Latin term “naturalia” and could have something exceptional in them with respect to shape or size. Differently were the objects created by human hands, called “artificialia”, particular for their originality and uniqueness, made with complicated or secret techniques and coming from all over the world. THE PURPOSE The purpose of our ARTIFICIALIA is to summarize the emotions generated by these modern works and adapting the result to the Wunderkammer 2.0 context, presenting them in a new artistic form, trying to apply a process of humanization that can, in some way, tell the nature of the eternal essences that, at first sight, seem to dwell in these constructs. THE PRESENTATION Each room and recess of this Wunderkammer is therefore connected to another, in an evocative and unstructured way. Fragmented. ARTIFICIALIA is a dreamlike journey, a metanarration that, just like the wonders that it exhibits, is told and unfolds only through interaction with people. And viceversa.
