Rahsa Dezmen AKA Yonic

@rahsadezmenakayonic

Rahsa Dezmen, the artist known as Yonic, is an international artist originally from the United States, specializing in acrylic painting. The artist is of Brazilian and Puerto Rican descent, with strong spiritual ties to their family, land and culture. The artist hails from New York City, where they taught recreational art classes and exhibited new work on a monthly basis with such organizations as Project Feel, Vander Plas Art Gallery, events held by Saeed Bolden, and so on. Since then, the artist has traveled far and wide for inspiration and a broader perspective. They have lived and exhibited in France, Vietnam, Mexico and the United Kingdom, where they most recently released an independent art book on their travels titled "Subject to Change*". The work of Yonic centers human nature, psychology and spirituality—blending philosophy, mythology and reality. Through vibrant colors, sleek curves, and layered motion, they ponder timeless questions such as what it means to belong, to live and die, and who we are in the process.
