Christ WAS Tempted

Here we see the brief moment during Christ's temptation when he is truly tempted. The moment that Christ seriously considers giving in to his desires. It is through this humanizing moment that we are able to identify with the Christ figure and take strength from his divine temperance. After all, just as faith cannot exist without doubt, nor courage without fear, so here there is no temperance without temptation. The artist rendered this composition early in his exploration of the digital medium and chose to use a grayscale rendering which was then selectively colorized, giving the piece the feeling of a stone tableau that has since been covered in graffiti.
