Dimensions (40 x 39 cm)
From the ”City in squares” art series – a collection of 17 pieces in three different sizes, based on photographs from known locations in Stockholm, Sweden. Besides being the largest commercial area in the Nordic countries, the area is most famous for its IKEA warehouse, which was the first expansion in the company’s history. Back then, the district was simply known as ”The Curve”, but after a car accident in 1946 where the Swedish king, Gustaf the 5th, ended up in the ditch, the national media was quick to mint the expression “King's Curve”, which soon became the official name for the area. Location: King's curve | Latitude: 59.27641 | Longitude: 17.916003
