Mondrian, Twisted (2015)
2015 · water soluble ink pencil on watercolor paper (mounted on wood panel)
Dimensions (200 x 200 cm)
DSKI rarely explains her pieces. This piece was definitely inspired by a viewing of several BBC art history documentaries, mostly hosted by Waldemar Januszczak, or occasionally by Simon Schama. There were many, many others, but her heart still belongs to Waldemar. Early 20th Century artist Piet Mondrian's famous geometric colour series is the obvious inspiration of this loving homage.

About Dawn Marie (Iwanowski) McIlmoyle
DSKI is, in no particular order: quiet, shy, over 40, wicked, rowdy, risque, morbid, missing her hometown [NYC], under-caffeinated, silly, and not smoking tobacco anymore. Often in assorted combinations.
