1990 · acrylic on heavy illustration board

Dimensions (150 x 100 cm)

One of my earliest successful abstract expressionism pieces, and one of the key half dozen pieces that demonstrated (to me, at least) that there was still PLENTY of room left in the field left behind by Jackson Pollock, Wassily Kandinsky, Joan Miro, Paul Klee, and Piet Mondrian... you just had to move stuff around a little and make something that the paints of 1980 could do that the paints of the early 20th century couldn't. The title is actually a shortening of a ridiculously long title that was written out on the back of the paintings (before I mounted it or whatever I finally did before I sold it to Brenda Millions for about $75 CAD. It WAS my very first fine art sale... and at the jolly old age of 42! Never give up on your dreams, kids!

About Lee Edward McIlmoyle

Lee Edward McIlmoyle has wasted the last twenty years of his life trying to productize his life's output, to no discernible effect. He still tortures imaginary friends for amusement. He is still Canadian, for the nonce.
