Pernilla Iggstrom’s paintings are an investigation into her personal cultural heritage, the effect of her own identity of being born into one culture and then being adopted into another very different one very far away. Although Pernilla’s story is key, she wishes to address cultural differences in our society, increase awareness, and to break down stereotypical and pre-conceived ideas. Pernilla Iggstrom was born in South Korea and grew up in Sweden. She worked in the business environment for many years. In 2007 Pernilla left Singapore and moved to London to realise her dream. She received her BA (Hons) in Fine Art Painting at City & Guilds of London Art School in 2011. Her work can be found in private and public collections in Sweden, England, USA and Malaysia. Pernilla lives and works in Essex, England.
