Dimensions 160.5 × 230.5 cm

Collection: Art Whisperer

My children is a family portrait of Sorolla's three children his son Joaquín, oldest daughter Maria and youngest daughter Elena. This painting was an unusual undertaking for Sorolla in that most of his family portraits were painted outdoors with a focus on interplay of light and color while My Children in much more subdued and traditional. It is strongly believed that Valazquez was an inspiration behind this painting in particular his masterpiece Las Meninas (Ladies in Waiting). My Children was often exhibited in international exhibitions which suggests his personal pride and attachment to the painting.
